Asian Female Cowgirl

So I just got back from spending 5 weeks in McGregor, Iowa. They have this amazing store called River Junction which rocks. It reminded me of my days growing up on the ranch in Asia, where I was responsible for herding the sheep and collecting eggs. Boy those chickens are feisty!!! Don't cross an angry hen!

I ordered this incredible hat...it cost me a whole day's work, but I'm telling you it'll be worth it when National Asian Cowgirl Day rolls around next month. Love it.

Omnivore's Dilemma

I admit it--I'm an omnivore. Always have been, always will be. Meat is tasty (even buffalo meat, though I feel bad about that). As an omnivore, I was shocked to find out that I have a dilemma. Specifically, too much corn. I've come to find out that it's in everything. And that's bad for us.

As I did more research and began talking to people, I got something of a reputation as an "expert." So, from time to time I don my sunglasses, adopt my thoughtfullest of thoughtful expressions and, when Michael Pollan or other academically credentialed personage isn't available, give lectures on my dilemma. On your dilemma. On The Omnivore's Dilemma.

Where is Q??

Come with me as I travel the world with my FICTION / Friction frames by LA Eyeworks.

Wherever I go, my frames go with me.

It's like that song...remember it?

"My buddy, my buddy. Wherever I go, he goes" (except they'll be my Kid Sister!)

Buffalo Soldiers

A few months ago, whilst in Thailand, my friend and I went buffalo hunting. We had a big one in our sights when I had an attack of conscience. The big lug was just standing there, so peaceful, eating some grass. We exchanged a look, the buffalo and I. Then I turned to the side and exchanged a look with my friend. Wordlessly, we crept forward, spears at our sides until we were eye to eye with the buffalo. The three of us stood staring at each other. Then my sister and I climbed on board. The buffalo accepted our weight without complaint and began plodding forward. We all became best of friends--it's a shame they wouldn't let us take him home!
